MaltaExpo is Malta's premiere scale model exhibition showcasing some of the best works by award winning modellers of the Society for Scale Modellers (IPMS Malta). This exhibition has been an annual favourite with visitors for the past 39 years, and it never disappoints. Visitors can expect to see a wide variety of models including: aircraft; military vehicles; naval vessels; historical & fantasy figures and an ever growing civilian vehicle section.

Opening hours: From 0900 till 1700 hours.

Exploring the Phoenician Shipwreck off Xlendi, Gozo – an exhibition highlighting discoveries from this innovative underwater project

This exhibition highlights some of the innovative techniques used as well as stories of trade, exchange, production and consumption in the Archaic Mediterranean. Objects recovered are on display whilst audiovisual aids help transport the viewer into an underwater world of historical discovery.

The extinction and evolution of birds

Heritage Malta is inviting Student Passport Holders to learn more about the extinction and evolution of birds. Students will be also following an interactive tour of the Birds Hall, where students will be made to listen to different bird songs and also asked to match the song to the bird.

 

Activity open to HM Student Passport holders between the ages of 8 and 11. Students may be accompanied by parents.

Cafà's Golden Rose - Public Lecture by Professor Keith Sciberras

A public lecture by Professor Keith Sciberras on Melchiorre Cafà’s statuette, ‘St Rose of Lima’ will discuss the statue within the context of Cafà’s work, and the wider framework of the Roman Baroque style. The event is a joint collaboration between Heritage Malta and the Department of Art and Art History within the University of Malta.

Aspects of Castrum Maris - Curator's Tour

Fort St Angelo, Vittoriosa

The general public is invited to attend at the fort where re-enactors will be portraying clothing and weaponry of soldiers stationed in the Castrum Maris around the year 1400. On the same occasion, a Curator’s Tour of Upper Fort St Angelo (administered by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta) will focus on the medieval history of the fort with particular focus on the medevial historical fabric found within the area, inclusing the Castellan’s House, St Anne’s Chapel and the Round Tower.

historical re-enactment at Fort St Elmo

For this historical re-enactment at Fort St Elmo, the Fort will open at 1000 hours, with In Guardia! starting at 1100 hours. The National War Museum will open at noon.

Price: €10 for adults, seniors and students, €5 children

Tickets for the National War Museum only are available on the day from noon onwards (at normal admission prices).
