Exhibition Etruscan Urns in the National Collection

National Museum of Archaeology, Valletta
On display four urns, one lid and one front piece that were stored together with a typewritten plaque with the donor’s name Mr Francesco They, accompanied with a note stating that they were probably imported to Malta in the 19th century. These urns were commonly used by the Etruscans who flourished along the coast just north of Rome between the 8th and 1st centuries BC.
Opening hours: 09.00 - 18.00hrs (last admission at 17.30hrs).
Admission to the exhibition free of charge.
Open Day Citadel Museums & Sites

Citadel, Gozo
On the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, Wednesday 15th August, Heritage Malta's museums and sites at the Citadel, together with the Cittadella Visitors’ Centre, will open to the public on free admission.
The museums & sites included are the following:
- Old Prison
- Gran Castello Historic House
- Gozo Nature Museum
- Gozo Museum of Archaeology
- Cittadella Visitors’ Centre
Guided tours will be offered at the following times:
- Old Prison (in English) at 10am
- Gran Castello Historic House (in English) at 11am
Opening hours: 09.00 till 17.00 (last admission at 16.30hrs).
Event Filfla Cruise
18 August
Sliema Ferry, Sliema
A round Filfla boat cruise, departing from Sliema Ferry (opposite Sliema Hotel) at 14.00hrs.
Experienced Heritage Malta officials will be with us to point out special features found along the coast, such as fortifications and heritage sites.
We will also have time for a swim at one of the sheltered coves near Delimara (swimming next to Filfla is NOT permitted).
Light snacks (ftira biz-zejt) included however, participants are advised to bring along their own drinks.
Time: 14.00hrs (until approximately 20.00hrs)
TICKETS: €25 for adults. Seniors, students, children & HM members at €22. Tickets available from all Heritage Malta sites & museums, and ONLINE.
N.B. Bring along a hat and sun protection lotion!
